Patsy’s Pointers . . ..
I came into the PVA office in November of 1996 filling the unexpired term of Jack Parrent. I have now served you as PVA for the past 10 years. I am happy to say that it has been a very pleasant experience. Assessing property is not the most popular job for you or me but I am pleased at the cooperation I have received from you.
The Franklin County PVA Office is open to serve you, the taxpayers. The Property Tax System is designed to be a fair and equitable way to finance amenities that make our lives easier. None of us like paying taxes; however, we like the conveniences they provide. We also want to feel that we are being assessed fairly and honestly.
We are striving to bring the assessments up to 100% of the Fair Cash Value according to Kentucky State Statute. Your help and consideration is appreciated as we try to do the very best job for you.
Any time you do not agree with our assessments or if you feel you need to address an issue in the assessment process of your property or if you can bring additional information for us to use in making your assessment, please feel free to call me or any one of my deputies. We are always willing to discuss these things with you.
Remember, if you are 65 years of age or receiving disability income, please check our Homestead Exemption Page and call our office if this applies to you. This could reduce your assessment value for taxation purposes and thus, reduce your tax liability.
I am very proud of the 5 full time deputies and 2 part time deputies working in my office. They are hard workers and always willing to be of service to you, the taxpayers.
As your PVA for the next 4 years, I hope that you will feel free to come in and be a part of the assessing process for your property.
Thanks for all your kindness,
Patsy Conway, PVA
Franklin County
